The RDA/US Interns program invites graduate students and postdoctoral scholars to apply for the 2014 Summer Internship. Interns will receive a summer stipend to work on a project that has the backing of a senior member of the RDA community. Some of the projects are listed below, however, interns are welcome to propose their own projects and request support in finding a mentor. They may also list a senior member of the RDA community, if he or she has already agreed to serve as a mentor. The projects will be six weeks in duration and must be completed over the course of one summer. Interns will also receive a travel grant to attend the Fall 2014 RDA Plenary in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and present the results of their work.

Who is eligible? Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows at institutions of higher education in the United States and early career researchers at U.S.-based research institutions, who are in their first three years of postgraduate training.

Why apply? RDA/US Interns Program gives early career researchers an opportunity to interact with experts from a variety of scientific and technology-oriented domains and work on solutions for pressing challenges and problems in data sharing and exchange.

Internship awardees will be required to attend a kickoff meeting on one of the Indiana University campuses (Bloomington or Indianapolis) in early June to build a cohort and receive initial introduction and training. Mentors will be invited to participate and will be asked to help teach.

Application Deadline: April 24, 2014
