On the whole, we have had the same approach as you here at Bath – we’ve done two FutureLearn MOOCs so far.  The development has been done by existing staff although we have appointed someone to help with video production.  That appointment replaced a more generic learning technologist post which had just been vacated.

I’m looking for answers to the question: when universities decide to launch MOOCs, are they consequently hiring new people to work on the MOOCs?

At University of Leicester, we are just now launching our second MOOC on FutureLearn and we did not hire any new people. We’re trying to get a picture of what’s happening out there in the sector.
