We first subscribed in 2010 following the expiry of an offer giving free trial access. We currently have 80 licenses for concurrent use. Toolkit tools are available to monitor usage and these may be helpful in terms of assessing long term needs following the initial implementation period. We also subscribed to the Toolkit well in advance of moving (probably about 9 months-1 year). We also started accepting RDA records as soon as they appeared in the BL/Library of Congress, (though we only got round to 'sorting' the system display once we got close to going live). I can't say I looked at it a huge amount in advance of starting training (though I did use it for the CIG practical eforum), but then we don't have that much written documentation on cataloguing (something we're slowly sorting out...) Hi, Jennifer ... I've changed the subject line as I'm picking up on your question. We just subscribed to the Toolkit last Autumn so I could refer to it while re-writing our documentation in the run-up to full implementation. We had been accepting RDA copy for some months prior to that, and had begun introducing cataloguing staff to FRBR and RDA concepts based on training some of us had attended, and info available elsewhere. We haven't yet subscribed to the toolkit and I'd be interested to know at what stage other libraries have done so.
