engage International Conference 2013: 5 days left to book your place

There are just days to go before bookings for the 2013 engage International Conference close next Monday 21 October at 5pm.

Make sure you don't miss out on this year's event, which over the course of two days will explore the challenges that education in the visual arts face in a period of uncertainty.

Conference Theme & Structure
With an extensive list of contributors the topic will be examined from three different viewpoints or ExchangesLooking to the FutureChange in an International Context, and Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability. Each group of presentations will be followed by discursive Breakout sessions, designed to allow delegates to contribute their own ideas, arguments and experience to each debate, resulting in a rich dialogue around each subject. Axisweb bloggers will be on hand to capture the spirit of each day, picking up on discussions and themes from Conference conversations and sharing them on social media.

Fringe Programme
On top of that delegates have a fantastic Fringe Programme to look forward to, the biggest yet, with a dozen participating organisations who together will give a sense of the rich arts ecology that Birmingham has to offer. Choose from sessions that include an introduction to the art spaces of Digbeth, or a guided tour of Birmingham Museum's Collection Centre, home to 80 per cent of Birmingham Museum Trust's varied collections. Representatives from Compton Verney, WAVE Wolverhampton and the RBSA will invite delegates to explore their learning programmes and exhibitions, whilst mac birmingham will host a session on their innovative young curators programme, The Open Project. Ikon Gallery will add an international perspective with an event about Artists in Creative EducationDelegates are reminded that pre-booking is essential for all Fringe events.
