Mainstream psychological therapy services and people with learning disabilities: the IAPT and LD study
We would like to invite you take part in this important national survey looking at how people with learning disabilities make use of mainstream psychological therapy services. Please feel free to forward this to others who may be interested in this topic.

People with learning disabilities often struggle to access appropriate treatment for mental health problems, even though we know that many can get considerable benefit from a range of psychological therapies. We are particularly interested in finding out how people with learning disabilities might best be served by the nationwide mental health treatment programme called IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies).

We are keen to hear about the experiences and views of IAPT and specialist learning disability staff. We’d like to hear from a range of staff, not only those with a mental health background, even if you don’t have direct experience of supporting someone with learning disabilities to use IAPT services.

Your participation is valuable to us: it will help to design more effective psychological therapy support for people with learning disabilities.

If you would like to take part in this survey please click on the link which will take you to the online questionnaire. This will take about 15 to 20 minutes to complete. You will also find more information about the study and our goals.

This study is sponsored by King’s College London. Our partners are the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities.

We have received ethical approval for this study from the NHS Research Ethics Service (12/EM/0187).
