JOB OPPORTUNITY:  DATA AND SERVICES DEVELOPER, UK Data Archive

 

Please find below the link to a fixed term Data and Services Developer post which has now been advertised for working on the ESRC Digital Futures project for delivering qualitative data.

 

Overview

 

The UK Data Archive at the University of Essex is seeking to appoint a Data and Services Developer to work on the design, implementation and documentation of the backend and data loading for a new Digital Futures system which will provide online access to and citation of qualitative research data (via XML and PDF formats).


Among other skills and experience the successful candidate will be a post-graduate in a computing related discipline and must have experience of generating and handling XML, validating XML schemas (XLST) and using XML databases such as BaseX for primary data storage. Experience of using Solr in a production environment and server-based JAVA development is also essential.

This is a full time, fixed-term position for one year. The UK Data Archive is ISO 27001, certified for Information Security Management.
