APOLOGIES FOR CROSS POSTING

Dear Colleagues,

You are warmly invited to join the Articulating Space Research Group to explore future narratives and changing landscapes at 'Storying Futurescapes' on Thursday 18 April, 6.00-9.00pm in the AIR Sandpit at Falmouth University as part of AIR Pressure

A guest lecture by David Griffiths, award winning game designer, creative coder and live coding artist, will be followed by a night walk of interventions and performances led by various guides offering glimpses of future landscapes. Your guides to the future include: Simon Persighetti, Ria Hartley, Kym Martindale, Rebecca Edgerley, Jeremy Tridgell, Carolyn Arnold and Misha Myers.

In preparation for the night walk your guides kindly ask that you wear clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather and walking and bring a torch. In addition, if you have a smart phone it would be advantageous to have a QR code reader. If you don't already have this app installed on your phone, you can download the software/app for free from a number of sites, such as at the following link:

Or find a list of other options here: http://www.mobile-barcodes.com/qr-code-software

Android users are invited to observe the Carbon Diem consciousness which can be downloaded from Play Store.

There will be food and refreshment available at the end of the walk.

David Griffith is an award winning game designer, creative coder and livecoding artist, and part of FoAM – an independent arts and research organisation. He has worked in the games and film industries for 10 years (Moving Picture Company, Sony Eyetoy R&D)  and is designing games with FoAM, who have been working for a number of years on using games to strengthen the connection between plants and people, such as Groworld. Germination X  takes popular games such as FarmVille as inspiration, but explores what would happen if these games were infused with aspects of permaculture.
