Dear All,

Just a quick reminder that we are now accepting applications for 2013 entry to the Graduate Fellowships in Sustainable Architecture and Urbanism, carrying an MA in Sustainable Urbanism validated by the University of Wales. The deadline for applications for this year’s programme is Friday 10th May 2013.

We believe that that comprehensive and practical action is needed to train the next generation of architects and designers to evolve traditional approaches to planning and design in response to our contemporary crisis. This is where our MA in Sustainable Urbanism comes in.

The first year of our course includes a weekly Masterclass led by experts from our own staff and around the world. Meanwhile our students are placed in one of our departments for 3 days a week, learning alongside experienced professionals. We give students one day each week for reading, in our own specialist library or at the British Library and other research libraries in London. At the same time, our students work on set essays (in the first and second term) and a research project on an aspect of sustainable urbanism, broadly considered, while participating in regular group tutorials. At the end of the year, we ask our students to present their research as a first year seminar for teaching staff and students.

In the second year, we help our students find a placement of their choice four days a week, while writing a dissertation on an aspect of sustainable urbanism of their choice. So far, students have managed to secure a wage of £16-22,000 per annum while they are on placement.

The closing date is Friday 10th May 2013, but we interview on a rolling basis, so do get your application in early. We interview either by telephone or you may wish to come to the Foundation in London.

Fees: £6,250 per annum.

We can sometimes offer bursaries to help with costs. If you wish to apply, please let us know at the time of application. Applications will be means tested
