Dear List members, Doctoral Colloquium at IASDR 2013 will be held on August 26. Please find the detail of the colloquium and request for submission below. Note the submission deadline from April 15 to May 5 since the announcement was delayed, ***************************************************************************** IASDR 2013 Call for Doctoral Colloquium Submissions http://www.iasdr2013 Submission Deadline: May 5, 2013 ***************************************************************************** The Doctoral Colloquium at IASDR 2013 is a special forum where doctoral students and candidates meet with other doctoral students and internationally leading design researchers to discuss and obtain feedback on their work-in-progress dissertation research. Selected participants will give a short presentation followed by break out sessions in specific topic groups of several students guided by two advisory experts. We welcome applicants whose research is developed enough to present preliminary or intermediate research work and further research plans, but have not reached later stages of completion. The goal of the Doctoral Colloquium is to provide an opportunity for participating doctoral students to exchange their research ideas and approaches with other students and obtain feedback from advisory experts with different perspectives. We hope the colloquium experience enhances and enriches the participants’ dissertation research and accelerates its successful completion. The paper should be no longer than 4 pages, including a 100-word abstract and a description of the work-in-progress with key references. The paper must clearly state the followings: - The issues and problems addressed by the research - An overview of existing research and theoretical references - The goal and significance of the research - Research questions and research methods - Preliminary research outcomes and expected contributions to the field - The plan for the completion of the research - References In addition to the 4-page paper, applicants must submit the following: 1) a paragraph (maximum 100 words) of what you hope to get from the Doctoral Colloquium 2) curriculum vitae 3) a letter from a primary dissertation research advisor confirming your progress status in the doctoral program. The paper must use the IASDR 2013 paper template.
