Hello all,
The Urban Geography Research Group is pleased to announce the winner of the 2012 Undergraduate Dissertation Awards. As usual, the quality of entries was high and the top dissertations exemplify some of the outstanding urban research taking place at all levels of British Academica.
The 2012 winner is Emma Colven, University College London for her dissertation "A neoliberal political agenda? The debate surrounding outdoor service provision for the homeless in Westminister" supervised by Professor Jenny Robinson.
Honourable mention goes to Richard Reynolds, Swansea University for his dissertation "To Panopticon or not to Panopticon? Assessing the validity and applicability of the Panopticon concept in Newcastle's CCTV system" supervised by Professor David Clarke.
Both dissertations and previous award winners can be viewed on our website (www.urban-geography.org.uk).
Thanks, and congratulations Emma and Richard.
