I think that’s a good idea, and would do the same if I was cataloguing the item again.  I also ummed and errer about whether he was a creator or a contributor, so it is really interesting to see other people having the same debate!

I entered ‘contributor’ on the grounds that I thought Appendix I wasn’t a closed list, so I could use cataloguer judgement to add to it??? What do people think?

I had the same problem - glad it wasn’t just me!

Closest thing I could find was writer of added text (I.3.1) but was no good as it’s for

A person, family, or corporate body contributing to an expression of a primarily non-textual work by providing text for the non-textual work (e.g., writing captions for photographs, descriptions of maps).

I have to run off to a meeting.

Just to say, I was stumped by the relationship designator for the contributor here. I "contributions by" didn't give me enough information to pick one from RDA's list, and I puzzled over whether I should add the vague "contributor" or just leave it blank. The axiom "When in doubt leave it out" led to an odd-looking record, I fear.

Caveats apply: NOT teaching material, just own stab at this; although I teach and write RDA, because so much of the application of any set of rules is about practice and policy as well as the rules themselves, I am also just learning. :)

Please feel free to keep the excellent discussions on record 2 going – some of the issues will come into other records as well.

Please also begin to submit record 3 between now and then we can start discussion of that at 11.15
