Hi, Max, I don't quite understand your point. André Breton and Benjamin Péret were surrealists of the first generation. And they were most certainly involved in publishing efforts and activities. E.g., they were the first to "discover" and publish works by the American "beat" poet Philip Lamantia, through VVV. You seem to be using the word "surreal" as a synonym for "weird." How do you explain then that books by Will Alexander have been published recently not only by Oyster Moon Press, but also by New Directions, Sun & Moon Press, and City Lights Books? Best wishes, to the southern hemisphere, Séamas http://www.freewebs.com/seamascain _______ On Tue, Sep 11, 2012 at 3:59 PM, Max Richards <[log in to unmask]> wrote: > surrealist writing, OK - > but surrealist publishing - ? > surreal…! > > On 12/09/2012, at 5:18 AM, Séamas Cain wrote: > > > _____________________________________ > > > > > > OYSTER MOON PRESS : > > > > a non-profit, surrealist > > > > publishing cooperative located > > > > in Berkeley, California > > > > http://www.oystermoonpress.com/ > > > > _____________________________________ > > > > > > “Mirach Speaks to His Grammatical Transparents” > > > > by Will Alexander > > > > (a philosophical meditation vertically scripted) > > > > > > “Carnival of Sleep” > > > > by Ribitch > > > > (opens its tent for the unwary somnambulist) > > > > > > “West of Pure Evil” > > > > by Josie Malinowski > > > > (represents a divorce between rhyme and reason) > > > > > > “HYDROLITH” : > > > > (surrealist research & investigations) > > > > > > “The Exteriority Crisis” : > > > > by Eric W.
