Julian Brazier is our local MP. I've passed it on to a Kent based
journalist so may discover whether this is a countywide issue or just
restricted to this particular office.

And also raises concerns about DPA compliance by the MP. Can you name
them?

Subject: [data-protection] Conservative candidate in data protection
breach?

Yesterday evening I received an email from the local Conservative
candidate in the police commissioner elections. Clearly concerned about
the impact Ann Barnes is having, his team set out the arguments against
state funded leaflets for the candidates. However, it appears that his
team had obtained email addresses from the local Member of Parliament's
office, without the permission of those on receipt of his promotion
material. You can see a copy of the email sent out here alongside my
thoughts:

Not sure at this stage if the contact details have been obtained from
one MP's office, or from office's across the county. I've heard reports
others had received the same email, but they were all from within my
local area. Will be interesting to see how widespread this is. Also
raises concerns about the calibre of a candidate whose team appear to
have breached data protection laws.
