Dear All,

There is a digital version of the Historia Naturalis Bulgarian journal at the biodiversity library:  http://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/item/97400#page/5/mode/1up

If anyone has any further citations to the introduction of the chicken to the Mediterranean region (to expand the discussion), I'd be interested too!

I agree completely! And I will add to the 'wish list' a comprehensive programme of radiocarbon dating.

Yes but data must be controlled ! the return to publications and reports is
required and the reliability of the data must be evaluated.

Dear all,

It is established that chicken were introduced to Britain in the late Iron
Age, just prior to the Roman invasion in AD 43. But when did chicken come to
northern France/Belgium/Netherlands? Is there a date (century?) for that?

With thanks,
Lena
