LGBT HISTORY CLUB - FEEDBACK FROM LGBTI ALMS 2012 Conference
Wednesday 8 August 6pm-7.30pm FREE drop-in event
London Metropolitan Archives, 40, Northampton Road, London, EC1R 0HB

The presentation will be feedback and ideas from LMA staff attending / speaking at the LGBTI ALMS 2012 Conference. IHLIA, Europe's oldest and largest LGBTI archive and library, is hosting the conference from 1-3 August 2012 in Amsterdam. IHLIA stands for the International Gay and Lesbian Information Centre and Archive and it is housed in the Public Library in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The conference aims to establish collaboration between LGBTI ALMS organizations and other local and national heritage organizations making the history of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans* and intersex (LGBTI) citizens visible and accessible. It is envisaged that by 2020 the heritage of LGBTI individuals and the LGBTI community is collected and recognized in Europe and globally as part of the cultural wealth of society.
Around 150 archivists, librarians and museum collectors from North America, Europe and other parts of the world are expected to attend to share knowledge and to begin the process of working together.
We look forward to seeing you.
