I'm confused.
Let's imagine all the numbers possible between say 0 and 1
From all of these possible numbers let us choose say, 1000
Now if our universe of numbers has been constructed and distributed according to
the Law governing the Normal Distribution then we know what to expect regarding
its mean and its variance.
Having sprouted the above stuff, how can you truncate a distribution that obeys
the Law of its distibution and infer some thing ?
I'm merely asking for help, here
Am I missing something ?

Subject: sampling from truncated normal distribution

  Hi,

Does anyone know whether there is a function in ox that I can use to generate random samples from truncated normal distributions?

  Thanks
