Dear colleagues

We have an applicant from the Isle of Man whose parental income appears to make him ineligible for DSA. This means that he will not be able to have a needs assessment carried out due to lack of funding and will also have implications for any study support he may require.

Has anyone come across this before and if so, how have you overcome it? Obviously, funding for support from sources such as Access to Learning would not be viable financially so that is not a route we can go down. The Isle of Man does not have any Disability Discrimination or Equal Rights legislation apparently either so the applicant could not pursue his case via these routes.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated so we can advise him re any options he may have.

Many thanks
carol
