Rosetta Day in London

Thursday 19th July 2012 – UCL Wilkins Building

We are pleased to invite you to join us for Ex Libris’ Rosetta Day in London on Thursday 19th July, where you will have the chance to hear from two of our customers about their experiences with Rosetta, Ex Libris’ answer to the digital preservation challenge.

The issue of the preservation of cumulative knowledge has become an increasingly present topic in recent years due to the increasing quantity of electronically generated and digitised material which is being produced, the decreasing lifecycles of such information, as well as the continual evolution of digital formats. Additionally, the preservation of primary research data has become a hot topic, with numerous key funding bodies now insisting that applications are accompanied by a preservation plan. Ex Libris’ Rosetta, developed in partnership with the National Library of New Zealand and with the on-going input of an international peer review group, provides you with the solution to these issues.

Rosetta is a runaway success with academic institutions and national libraries that have recognised the need to preserve and provide access to their resources. Its scalability, full preservation planning and action module, and strengths in the field of research data preservation are just a few reasons why the German National Library of Science & Technology (TIB) and the ETH Zurich in Switzerland, as well as numerous other institutions worldwide, have chosen Rosetta.

We are delighted to announce that Steve Knight, Programme Director Preservation Research & Consultancy, from the National Library of New Zealand and Henrike Berthold, Head of Division Storage and Network, Saxon State Library - State and University Library Dresden (SLUB) will join us for the day and share their experiences of digital preservation with Rosetta.
