Sorry Therona....Functional Capacity Evaluation. Takes about 2 hours and tests functional tolerances against job demands. But also identifies where the person may not be putting full effort into the tests and also looks for any yellow flags. They are fantastic and I learnt about them from the master Mandy Kelly who contributes to this list. I was lucky to work with her for many years before she went independent.

Carr

The OT doing the FCE will look at all that for me thankfully and we can refer on for CBT and physio etc if required.

CBT methinks is limited however as it will only "work" if the ultimate aim/target is "desireable" for her.

Hi

Sounds as though it is anxiety related, have you done HADs, but even if these are in the norm ranges may be CBT type coaching/encouragement and also exploration of the avoidance behaviour

Call me cyncial but I think the main barrier is that she doesn't want to go back working outdoors when she has been on this indoor duty for 4 years and it is a much coveted duty.

I am thinking maybe adhesions due to all the surgeries but she was very non commital when i asked her whether she was aware of any medically advised complications from her surgeries.

Hi all

31 year old female - double mastectomy due to pre-cancerous gene in 2009; reconstructive surgery but has had numerous "redos" due to infections etc. States physically well now and no impairment to ADLs etc although may have implants revised later this year for positioning.

Works in logistics and can manage parcels etc - has to move them from shelving to customer when customer calls to collect parcel.

States does not feel can push/pull trolleys of parcels but cannot tell me why apart from "think it would hurt".. I am referring for an FCE but am just wondering if anyone has come across functional limitaitons after breast implant surgeries?

Carr
