Open Biblio OKFN / OpenGLAM OKFN / DevCSI Hackathon Event, 12th-14th June, 2012, London. DevCSI (http://devcsi.ukoln.ac.uk) is organising an event together with the Open Biblio Project (http://openbiblio.net/) / Open GLAM (http://openglam.org/) and OKFN (http://okfn.org/) around the area of Hacking around Bibliographic data and related tools between the 12th to 14th of June in London. The event is for software developers and those interested in Bibliographic data. The event will be free. If you are interested in this area could you please email and let us know what areas you are interested in (or just generally interested in this area) and we will then let you know when the booking form is open. We are in the midst of planning this event and are gauging interest in the community so we can plan numbers. More information about the event below: It aims to bring together software developers, project managers, librarians and experts particularly in the area of Bibliographic Data. Hack days are a place for like minded people to get together, to have an opportunity to discuss issues relevant in the area, experiment in a focused way on prototyping systems and even hacking them together. It also aims for people to explore current ways of doing things and how they could be improved. We are hoping that people will come together to form small teams/groups, to discuss issues, work on paper/real prototypes, datasets, APIs. The event will culminate in a series of presentations from the teams in terms of the work they have carried out. We may even provide a prize to the best ideas to develop them further. Thanks for you co-operation. --------------------------------------------- Mr Mahendra Mahey Project Manager DevCSI and CERIFy Projects Research Officer UKOLN, University of Bath, Bath, BA2 7AY Tel: ++44 (0) 1225 384594 Fax: ++44 (0) 1225 386256 Mobile: ++44 (0) 07581069575 email: [log in to unmask] skypeID: mr_mahendra_mahey http://devcsi.ukoln.ac.uk/ http://cerify.ukoln.ac.uk/ http://www.ukoln.ac.uk -----------------------------------------------
