Dear Colleagues

Apologies for cross posting

Following our earlier correspondence, the call for applications for PDPAcademy 12 is now open.  The attached outline provides further details, together with an application form.

PDPAcademy is, in essence, a ‘change academy lite’ model of supported institutional development - a one year supported Institutional Development Programme to focus upon and make progress with key aspects of your work.

It is a specialist programme, though our definition takes ‘PDP’ in broad terms, including practice related to a range of related initiatives concerned to support the recording, reviewing evidencing and articulating of student achievements, initiatives such as:

·         e-portfolio implementation;

·         approaches to the verification of lifewide learning;

·         approaches to implementing the HEAR, particularly in the context of its formative version;

·         the development of PDP-practice to support key institutional agenda, such as student retention, employability or how PDP practice contributes to ‘the institutional offer’ to applicants.

This is not an exclusive list; institutions should feel free to make proposals for support which reflect their own institutional needs and priorities.   You can find out more about the range of projects being undertaken under PDPAcademy 11 at: http://www.recordingachievement.org/higher-education/pdp-academy.html

We also welcome:

A.   Applications from existing participants who wish to continue their Projects into a second year (subject to a successful continuation proposal.

B.    Applications for virtual ‘twinned’ Projects with an international partner

C.   Cross-sectoral proposals which support learner progression e.g. into HE, from HE into professional structures, institutions working with employers to support curriculum development.

Within PDPAcademy, support comprises:

1.    Access to a dedicated, named supporter.

2.    Participation in two one day meetings for up to four team members on each occasion.

3.    Ongoing Skype or telephone support from your supporter.

4.    An on-site visit from your supporter during the academic year at a time when this can most clearly support the Project with its development.

5.    Opportunities to work with others on the programme with similar aims and objectives.

For CRA Members PDPAcademy is offered at, effectively, cost price, providing an important member benefit.

Participation is not restricted to members, though it is cost effective to join and participate rather than participate as a non member.

For 2012/13, the costs of participation are:

·         For Institutional Members                                           £475.00

·         For Organisational Members                                      £775.00

·         For non-members                                                       £1,495.00

We look forward to hearing from you.

With best wishes

Rob
