Hi there Here is a release on the publication of the final report on the excavation of the liberated slave burial ground on St Helena in the South Atlantic. http://www.bristol.ac.uk/news/2012/8294.html for those who don't know the background St Helena was used as the reception depot for the slaves captured by the Royal Navy during their patrols off the African coast 1840-1870. Some 325 interments were excavated - and what is of particular interest is that this is pretty unique sample of the victims of the Middle Passage during the 19th century. There are extensive anthropological studies as well as the material culture found in the graves - which include textiles, beads, tags bracelets and clothing.
