PhD studentship beginning October 2012

The proposed studentship would be conducted in the Molecular Epidemiology Team of the Division of Genetics and Epidemiology at ICR, under the supervision of Prof. Garcia-Closas.  There are several research projects that could be used for a PhD, and the choice will depend on the candidate’s expertise and interests.

+ Identification of subtype-specific causes of breast cancer through molecular characterization of tumours
+ Identification of DNA-based biomarkers of risk such as epigenetic changes in genomic white blood cell DNA
+ Evaluation of the public health impact of genetic risk stratification

The successful applicant should be highly motivated, and have a strong methodological background (preferably an MSc in Medical Statistics or Epidemiology).
