Please click on the above link for information about (27 February) unveiling of Elisabeth Welch’s English heritage blue plaque, only the 2nd to be given to a black woman (after Mary Seacole).

The photo shows guest speakers Stephen Bourne, Bonnie Greer (who unveiled the plaque) and Paul Reid from the black cultural archives.

Black and Asian studies association founder member Stephen Bourne - who is also Elisabeth Welch’s biographer - lobbied English heritage for seven years to make this happen.
