For T1-images the same prequisites apply as for the standard VBM: in-plane resolution 1mm, slice thickness <1.5mm (preferable 1mm), good contrast-to-noise ration.
The additional FLAIR sequence is only used to detect the lesions. Thus, a lower spatial resolution might also work, but will diminish your accuracy. Again, in-plane resolution will have more impact...
