Hi David, What exactly are you looking for in terms of materials to get it together? I find that visuals such as striking images and videos along with any props that can be passed around the class make for the most engaging talks - I generally incorporate the videos etc. into a powerpoint which doesn't have too much text and then take some bits and bobs that can be passed around as well as basics to do demonstrations (e.g. a balloon to demonstrate static electricity. It really depends on what the purpose of the talks are and what the school is looking to get out if it. My first is on Monday morning to a group of 180 Y8s about how important STEM is. My second is on Thursday to a group of A-levellers about astronomy. Does anyone have ideas of materials that may help me get all this together at all? I have a pretty good idea of the kind of things I want to say, and will be putting it all together at the weekend (working around putting on a theatre show!). Any input would be gratefully received!
