Thank you so much, Alejandro (for validating my point of view). More than one person has reacted to my comment (which I thought was innocuous) in a harsh way.

Not silly at all. A good point, Christine
1) most of us must work with anonymised data due to Data policies
2) if you scan a subject twice you want to distinguish the sessions

Hi.
I would be careful importing the patient’s name as an identifier, better to assign each subject a unique number.

Hi Josselin,

Maybe you can try a toolkit named REST (www.restfmri.net<http://www.restfmri.net/>) to sort your dicom files.

REST -- > Utilities ---> REST Dicom Sorter
It will achieve what you want.

Dear all,

Using the batch GUI of SPM, I would like to import DICOM images using as a directory structure for converted files a "ProtocolName/PatientName"

This option is not proposed in the default list. When I click on "edit value" I can't edit the value of the directory structure. Is it possible to ask DICOM import to organize images in ProtocolName/PatientName ?

Thanks
Josselin Houenou
