Dear All,

Below are details of a forthcoming FREE 1-day conference organised by the Yorkshire FED.

A Fed mini conference for heritage professionals at the National Media Museum in Bradford
Friday 14 October 2011 (10:15-16:00)

Places are still available for this Conference and they are free of charge.

This is your chance to hear the current approaches to large collections that are expensive to store. Sessions will be led by:
Paul Goodman, Head of Collections, National Media Museum will relate the NMSI approach Patrick Ottoway gives the results of his survey of archaeological collections in Yorkshire; and David Marchant, Registrar for the East Riding of Yorkshire Museum Service, looks at more local issues when rationalising their collections. The mini conference will also bring you up to date with PAS 197 the Code of practice for cultural collections management, and PAS 198 Specification for environmental conditions for cultural collections. Finally there will be an Open Forum, chaired by Terry Suthers when you can ask the speakers for their view on your problem, or simply start a debate.

Lunch is not provided but can be purchased in the newly refurbished café at the Museum or from local hostelries.
