Hi folks,

 

I just wanted to flag up a couple of exciting job opportunities within the Academic Services Division at Warwick University Library:

 

Academic Support Manager (Teaching and Learning)

£36, 862- £44,016 pa   (Appointments are usually made on the first point of the salary range)  

Full-time, permanent

 

The Division is currently developing the Library's offering in support of teaching and learning, and research in line with the new University Strategy.  You will be leading the team of Academic Support Librarians to build on existing successes and initiate new and distinctive ways of supporting students and academic colleagues with their information needs.

 

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and be in possession of a recognised postgraduate qualification in librarianship or information management.  You will have at least three years' relevant experience in an academic or specialist information service setting.  A proven track record in successful staff management and team work is essential, as are communication and interpersonal skills.  The post-holder will be expected to effectively manage themselves, manage others and manage change.  A good knowledge of the Higher Education/Library and Information Service environment is needed for both service and personal professional development.

Academic Services Development Manager 

£27,428 - £35,788 pa  (Appointments are usually made on the first point of the salary range)  

Full-time, permanent

 

You will be leading a team to support service development through evidence-based research and the delivery of a range of projects, programmes and related initiatives.  Evidence-based research ranges from environmental scanning and assessing new technologies to surveying the Warwick community to understand how we can better meet their needs.  New product delivery ranges from generic e-learning packages to more customised support.  You will also manage the three Academic Support Officers and be part of the Academic Services Management Team.

 

You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and have experience of working in an academic or specialist information service setting. You will have a good understanding and awareness of the research process, and of modern teaching and learning methods, e-learning developments and their service delivery implications. Experience of developing new services to support changing user requirements is essential as is a high level of computer literacy. You must be able to work both collaboratively and independently as appropriate and ideally will have some line management experience.
