Dear all, Many thanks for the help provided today in sorting this out. The eagle-eyed will have noticed that the Reading page has been updated during the course of the day, with my particular thanks to Patrick and Elaine Davies for their swift and decisive assistance. Right, just the Reading details on the Europe Direct directory (http://europa.eu/europedirect/meet_us/directory/index_en.htm) to sort out now, which for the moment I believe is heading in the right direction. If not, I know where to come! Regards, Ross -----Original Message----- From: A discussion list for EU information specialists. Forwarded with Elaine's permission Dear Ross I'm sorry you've had difficulty with europe.org.uk. As Patrick has mentioned, this site is being completely re-designed and I will do my best as a member of the group working on it to ensure that future access is easier. It has always been our intention that the networks edit their own pages and we are aware that this needs to be much more user-friendly. I have had a look at the page in question. I have removed Ian Sainsbury's details. At present, you do not have the right to delete entries, only to edit them. In order for your details to appear on the correct webpage there were certain fields which required filling (Organisation: University of Reading, Role: European Documentation Centres, and on the next tab,Town: Reading!). I have fixed this and you will see on http://www.europe.org.uk/infolinks/-/ctid/5/ it shows a link to University of Reading and this now goes to your page. I have left your password as you set it, but you may need to edit address, groups (I have selected all of to replicate Ian Sainsbury's), and the other tabs. Please let me know if at any time you have any further queries on this site and I hope to be in contact later in the year when the new site is up and running. Dear Ross, The Europe in the UK site is currently being re-designed so the changes will probably need to be done by the webmaster there. I've copied this reply to Elaine Davies at the Commission in London as I hope she will be able to find the right person to ask. Hope this works. Dear all, One of the tasks that has vexed me since taking over as EDC Librarian at Reading is getting my details up on the Europe Direct and related websites. This has proved much harder than it ought to be; I think I'm finally getting somewhere with the Europe Direct Network site but the Europe in the UK Information Network website (http://www.europe.org.uk/info/) remains a stubborn beast. My basic issue: 1) The page at http://www.europe.org.uk/regions/contact/-/id/22974/ is out of date 2) I cannot edit the page using the button at the bottom, because I'm not Ian Sainsbury and lack both his login and access to his email 3) I have registered my own account under my own name/email, but this is not linked in to the Reading EDC data 4) I have relayed (pun intended) this information to the site via the feedback mechanism, the only contact I could see, but have received no response I'm sure that other people will have gone through the same process, so your advice on how I can get this sorted without further gnashing of teeth would be much appreciated.
