Kermode, A Sense of an Ending, is a classic. You might also want to check out volume 2 of Paul Ricoeur's Time and Narrative. Also, should you parochials of English happen to read German, which i don't assume, there's Thomas Christen's excellent study of film endings, with a particular emphasis on Antonioni's films, available through amazon.de. So: thanks Henry for those valuable pointers!
Best,
Henry

Subject: [FILM-PHILOSOPHY] Endings and conclusions

Apologies, part of me vaguely remembers a discussion about this before, but that might be a fantasy and let's not end the discussion.
Does anyone know of any great work in this area of endings and conclusions?
Many thanks in advance, Jason
