Hi all
Hoping you can help with something that’s troubling me a
bit...
Having reviewed the release notes for 9.1 SP5, I was a little
concerned about some of the points about file sizes (the key bits are copied in,
below). I went to my Sys Admin tab, convinced that I could solve this easily by
double checking the limit on file sizes, but it appears this setting is no
longer there. I queried this with BtBb, who tell me I could request it as a
feature enhancement. Am I cracking up, or was it possible to set maximum file
sizes for individual files in earlier versions of Bb?
We don’t have the content system, and we currently don’t set
quotas for overall course size (we want staff to contact us about specific large
files as part of the user education process) - although I’m guessing we may have
to now, as we’re hosted so unmonitored increases in storage could cost us a
bit...
Any thoughts on this would be gratefully received – here’s
what the release notes say:
Default Maximum Upload Limit
The default size limit for content uploaded through the
user interface has been raised from 250 MB to 2.5 GB. When attempting to upload
files larger than 2.5 GB, Web Folders must be used.
Assignment
Uploading files greater than 250 MB in size would return
an error message to users. This issue has now been corrected so that students
can upload larger assignment files. Performance tests have been performed up to
1GB in file size without issue.
