John, how can you be a nurse and not have met Nellie yet??!! Those of us who trained many moons ago (I qualified as an SRN in 1977!) virtually learned our trade by watching others do it first and then being supervised doing it ourselves. In my view it was a better way of learning than having all these manuals and CD Roms and DVDs.......although these are valuable tools to enhance learning. Long in the tooth? Moi???? If you explain your role and why you need the training I'm sure they will let you access their training facilities.....this may only be "sitting by Nellie" and observing practice during a Mantoux clinic but it's how I learned and it was very useful. There is no harm in asking and it's surprising how many people say Yes!!!!
