HI Anne We are all learning from your experience- thank you! It's spurred me to re think about doing the Mental health at Kings- I have thought about doing this for year's now-- its time to get on with it Happy Friday to all Jane -----Original Message----- From: [log in to unmask] [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of [log in to unmask] Sent: 10 June 2011 09:43 To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: [OCC-HEALTH] Dilema My recommendation is don’t just do a general degree. Although no education is wasted it will cost you time and money and will just give you an academic qualification but won’t necessarily enhance your career. I would suggest one of the following two options: 1. SCPHN degree – but choose your course with care 2. Specialise in something highly relevant to OH such as employment law, ergonomics, disability, mental health etc etc. I hope this is helpful Anne On 10/06/2011 09:14, "Georgina Mastin" <[log in to unmask]> wrote: Although the Warwick and Glamorgan diploma courses are not NMC accredited but are both well recognised, i find myself wondering whether I need to go on and do a SCPHN validated degree or whether to do a more general degree? I am planning on staying in OH for the forseeable future but wonder if it is really necessary or not?? Thoughts and opinions would be most welcome.
