Dear all, 

 

The following Durham University PhD proposal has been approved for
funding by the Clair Joint Venture Group (BP, Shell, ConocoPhillips,
Chevron) subject to contract. The project will start 1st Jan 2012.

 

Title: A reappraisal and 3D characterisation of fracture systems within
the Devonian Orcadian Basin, Scotland and its underlying basement: an
onshore analogue for the Clair Group 

PhD studentship  to be funded by the Clair Joint Venture Group in
collaboration with the Durham University Centre for Research into Earth
Energy Systems (CeREES) and Geospatial Research Ltd (GRL).  

Supervisors: Bob Holdsworth, Ken McCaffrey, Nic De Paola (Durham
University), Andy Conway (ConocoPhillips (U.K.) Ltd), Richard Jones
(Geospatial Research Ltd)

 

The project will require significant periods of structural geology
fieldwork and laboratory work and is open to ALL EU citizens with an
Upper Class Second Class Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant Earth
Science discipline.
