Research Fellow in Primary Care Epidemiology (Fixed term)

Full Time, Fixed Term Contract (Two Years)
Grade 7, £29,972 - £35,788 per annum

We are seeking a qualified and experienced epidemiologist/medical statistician who will be able to contribute to analysis of large primary care datasets and to develop further research in this field. The post holder will work with the Patient Records Enhancement Programme (PREP) Team, funded by the Wellcome Trust under the Joint Initiative in Electronic Patient Records and Databases in Research Scheme, entitled 'The ergonomics of electronic patient records'. The post will involve communication of epidemiological concepts and proposals to a range of collaborators and both to lay and academic audiences. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility of continuing a programme of research in rheumatoid arthritis developed by the previous postholder, and will have interests in the emerging field of health services and epidemiological research using electronic patient records.

The successful applicant will have the ability to organise their own time and have a high level familiarity with a statistical package widely used in medical statistics, with some familiarity with STATA. They will also have experience of contributing to the writing and editing of peer reviewed research papers in a variety of subject areas.
