Apologies for cross-posting This is to let you know about two forthcoming events about Renaissance and Early Modern Cosmetics at the National Galleries of Scotland, 17-18 March 2011. On Thursday 17th at 6pm, there is a public lecture by Professor Evelyn Welch (Queen Mary, London), "Painted Faces in Renaissance Europe". Everyone is very welcome to come, no booking required. On Friday 18th March, we are holding "Making Up the Renaissance", a study day and workshop about the theory and practice of cosmetics in the Renaissance (more details below). Numbers are limited for the study day, so booking is essential - please email me ([log in to unmask]) by March 7 if you wish to come.
