We use seating plans that show each students photo (where available) so this can be used as a last resort if a student forgets their ID and there is no tutor available to identify them. Unless they can be identified in some way they are not permitted to take the assessment (which is thankfully very rare). We also have our own in-house posters at a few key places informing students that ID is required for every exam. Not sure if they look at them but at least I feel I've done all I can to warn them.

At a push we insist on the tutors identifying them if they are present otherwise they cannot proceed. All our learners are obliged in any case to carry photo id with them.

I wonder if you could share with me how you have invigilators identify students for exams. At present we ask students to bring photo ID with them to all exams (online and written), however I am coming up against some opposition from tutors when students do not have their ID with them.

How do you all identify your students in exams?

Many thanks
