B/BASH: a core facility for life science data analysis support

B/BASH is a College of Medicine, Biological Sciences and Psychology funded initiative to drive
the exploitation of data intensive research methodologies by College researchers, by providing
comprehensive support in study design, analysis development and execution. This post represents
an opportunity for a dynamic mathematical biologist / biostatistician to contribute to the
vibrant College research community, and have their analysis expertise recognised in high impact publications.

The role will be to support researchers in the College with respect to their needs for biostatistical
analysis as part of the Bioinformatics and Biostatistics Analysis Support Hub.
The post holder will actively promote the use of the Hub services throughout the College and contribute to experimental
design and planning in research grant applications with significant biostatistics components.

Candidates should possess a PhD in biostatistics or biological sciences with a strong statistical and data analysis component.
Experience in standard analysis techniques in biostatistics, as well as strong data analysis skills are required.
Due to the requirement that the Hub interface efficiently with researchers across the College,
effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team as well as individually are essential.

Informal enquiries are welcome and should be made to Dr Richard Badge, Department of Genetics, on [log in to unmask] or 0116 252 5042.
