Based in the Faculty of Economics and Business, WRC is one of Australia's leading authorities on the changing nature of work. The Centre's charter is to "inform, advise and educate". Over its 21 year history we have provided employers, governments, unions and NGOs with the practical and accurate insights they need to make decisions. We have actively raised the standard of public debate on issues such as working time, the realities of labour standards and the future of skills policy in Australia and generated new ideas about the world of work. The Centre is currently seeking specialist skills primarily in quantitative research. Software experience in SPSS, STATA and MATLAB is required. Previous experience in qualitative research will also be considered favourably, but is not essential. As a WRC Researcher you will be working with a team of 14 multi-disciplined researchers and will ensure that the research projects of the Centre are completed on time, on budget and at a quality expected of clients. You will manage multiple concurrent research projects of various sizes in terms of people and budget, conduct business development for the Centre, manage client relationships, and it is expected that you will produce publications from the research. In addition, it expected that this position will provide significant contribution to the completion of a 5 year ARC Linkage project called ‘Australia at Work study’. You must have project management skills including budget management experience as well as excellent people management and interpersonal skills. It is essential that you are able to conduct business development including sourcing funds from multiple industry sectors and be able to prepare tenders. You will also have high level communication, analytical and drafting skills with the ability to write clearly and concisely. It is expected that you mentor the Senior Research Analysts and Research Analysts in the Centre in quantitative skills. The position is a one year contracted position subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees. A PhD is a requirement for the Leading Researcher position. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees. Remuneration package a competitive remuneration package of $97 172 - $137 128 is available, dependent on experience (consisting of a Level B base salary $82 112 -$97 506 or Level C $100 -$115 980, leave loading and up to 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation).
