Dear colleagues and friends,

The Mapuche people, in Chile, have been fighting for their territory
ever since the Spaniard conquerors tried to enter their land. Today they
fight not only for the territory where they have always lived, and that
they are now defending from new dangers; but also for their civil,
social, political, and human rights. A law has been presented to the
Congress in Chile, that will define their fight as terrorism, thus
giving way to radical measures against them. Chilean psychologists are
suporting their claim and their rights, and trying to save the lives of
a group of women and men who already have been in hunger strike for two
months.

Endorsing the psychologists Statement is a way to support the Mapuches
and a way to make known what is being kept in silence by the government
and the press.

Please add your names to the Statement the Chilean psychologists will
present tomorrow to the Chilean authorities. Send your endorsement to
Georg Unger ([log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]>)

Best wishes,

Maritza Montero
