2010 Sector Skills Assessment Survey

Help identify the skills needs of the lifelong learning sector

As the Sector Skills Council for the lifelong learning sector we are undertaking the annual Sector Skills Assessment to identify future skills priorities for the UK and for each nation.

The easy online survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and gathers information from across the lifelong learning sector which provides invaluable insight about recruitment, skills of staff, training and workforce development and future skills needs.

The findings include skills shortages and skills gaps, along with recommendations for addressing these issues.

The survey is available to employers in career guidance, community learning and development, further education, higher education, libraries, archives and information services, and work based learning.

How the findings can help you

*	By knowing the skills gaps and shortages you can better prepare your organisation and workforce for the future.
*	The findings enable you as an employer to plan and develop strategies to prepare for the challenges ahead.
*	The findings can help you retain employees by providing them with the training and support they need – career paths, etc.
*	Findings from the research contribute to understanding the sector requirements and to influencing the policies and programmes of the four governments of the UK nations.
