? A whole room there is devoted to the town's Greatest Son (and his lady). I was
there for the Translation a few years back and think I reported the event to

was on this day in 1142 that Peter Abelard passed into glory after more than
sixty years of life, having loved, argued, sung, questioned, and preached
for much of it. Not "officially" a saint, he certainly is one to many of us,
not to mention a mentor, guide, and teacher. May Master Peter rest in peace
with his beloved Heloise.
