medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

Hello

I understand that some religious figures, such as Alain de Lille and, apparently, Etienne de Fougères, chaplain to Henry II, who criticised the behaviour of knights for abusing the peasantry, debauchery, and so on but I lack references.

Is anyone able to shed light, please, on where I may find further details about these two individuals or, indeed, any others who held similar views?

Many thanks in anticipation.

Regards

Steve
