Have a look at http://www.thestar.com/News/World/article/744426 which seems to militate for good security, not high technology.

I came through Ben Gurion in the early winter. It was a quick and simple experience. The security was not intrusive. I was not bored to death in the line, I was asked quiet simple questions and had no idea that the cute young lady who asked them was more than someone speeding me through the system!

And no-one laughed at my body image!

In military theory, there is an awareness that each advance by an army leads to a counter move, to negate that advantage, by its opponents. If they seek the high ground, you go to the air. If they are in the air, you go to space.

Even if it revealed "something" inside who is to say that this is not a legitimate device ie a pace maker or an artificial limb or a medically required device? Unlike luggage, we cannot ask the person to open their body so that it can be inspected.
