The one I have as well as Rosemary Jay's is "The Data Protection Act explained" by James Mullock and Piers Leigh-Pollitt - it's an easy read and gives examples.

Steve,

I have "Essential Facts" and it has been mildly useful, I suspect it would
be more useful for less skilled individuals in this area. However, like most
of these types of book I do have an issue with the price. It's about £30
which makes it less value for money in my opinion, but the content is good.

Peter's book is good and has come in useful for reference on many occasions.
I find it very easy to find the bits I need. Again though, hideously
expensive but if pushed, this is the one I would go for even with the
inflated price.

Simon Howarth.

Has anyone read either of these publications and, if so, would you recommend

them as reference works?

Data Protection: Essential Facts at your fingertips: by Nicola McKilligan

Naomi Powell (Authors)

Data Protection: A Practical Guide to UK and EU Law by Peter Carey

Thanks in advance

Steve
