This day is included FREE for attendees of the main conference, but can be attended on its own at a special rate. MAIN CONFERENCE The main 2-day conference (Wednesday December 16th - Thursday December 17th) includes: - Keynote lectures: Professor Chris Bishop (Microsoft Research) on 'Third Generation Machine Intelligence' Colin Cadas and Badr Haque (Rolls-Royce) on 'Whatever Happened to Expert Systems?' - Technical stream papers on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining, Reasoning, Data Mining and Machine Learning, Optimisation and Planning, and Knowledge Acquisition and Evolutionary Computation. - Application stream papers on AI and Design, Commercial Applications of AI and other AI applications. - Business and Industry Presentations with the theme of ‘Real Artificial Intelligence’. - Poster sessions on emerging research and applications in intelligent systems. - The eighth annual BCS prize competition for the best live demonstration of Progress Towards Machine Intelligence. This year's conference will be held at Peterhouse College in Cambridge. In addition to the formal sessions, the conference programme includes a welcome reception and a Gala Dinner.
