medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

Perhaps it would be apposite for me to mention that The Bangles' 1989 hit single "Eternal Flame" resulted from a visit that the group made to Graceland. On seeing a plastic box, one of them asked "What's in that?", to which the reply came "That's the eternal flame!" (It was a reasonable question, the flame was out at the time...)

Paul Simon's 1986 song "Graceland" also commemorates a pilgrimage (at least semi-fictitiously.)
