O blessed pyx, O blessed pyx!
Where Jesus dwells with Gregory Dix!
.............................................

Howls! Howls of laughter - that is excellent!

I do recall reading more than one text/discussion/debate on liturgy when I was in seminary (and later) in which Dix's scholarship was called into question, but his efforts were still roundly praised. So, yeah, I tend to read Dix with a couple grains of salt or whatever is considered healthier these days.

Should be enlightening to pick up both works and consider them in tandem with some more recent scholarship on the subject . . . any suggestions regarding the latter?

Many thanks!
