The Commercial, Legal and Scientific Information Group (CLSIG) invite you to their latest seminar:

Marketing matters

Thursday 19 November, SMMT (Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders), Forbes House, Halkin Street, London SW1X 7DS

Doors open 6pm, 6.30-8pm

"Failure to exploit information loses UK economy 67 billion a year" was a recent headline that should have provided an ideal opportunity for info pros to promote their vital role within their organisations. However, in spite of this clear evidence on the importance of the effective exploitation of information, there is still a tendency to view our role as a secondary 'service', staying in the background and responding to user's requests. Shaida Dorabjee, Information Consultant, will encourage and indeed challenge the audience to think as well as act differently. This involves taking a more business-focused approach, through effective promotion and marketing activities. Techniques for researching the market, the customers as well as the products will also be suggested and discussed.

There will be a networking reception after the event.

All seminars are 10 for CLSIG members, 15 for non-members and half-price for the unemployed or students. To book or for more information please email [log in to unmask]
